There is good evidence that Carrick was also responsible for these three sculptures, although this is to be definitely confirmed. One of Carrick's pupils, Phylis Bone, gained an international reputation as an animal sculptor and often worked with Carrick, on the Scottish National War Memorial and Saint Andrew's House; and modelling the Unicorn for the North Berwick War Memorial in the same year that the Cardiff Castle work was begun. It is perhaps possible that she was also involved in the six Cardiff Castle sculptures although this is also to be proved.
